Welcome!
Welcome to space.magnificent.com. This Web site is intended as a celebration of humanity's drive to explore our universe, to understand, and to grow and push back frontiers.

If you've visited before, you'll notice a few changes. There's a new section called Aerospace, all about advanced aeronautics and flight testing. There's new material in several places, including the formerly-empty Solar System section. The old feature "The NASA Channels" has a new name: The Space Channels; at the moment it's essentially the same as the older version, but the new name signals my intention to broaden it and (finally!) add support for Microsoft Internet Explorer.

While the surface is relatively familiar, underneath there are dramatic technical changes. The site now uses advanced server-side scripting technology to sense your browser type and (if your browser volunteers the information) your computer's display size. It then customizes various pages to fit more comfortably on your browser. You can also customize the settings if you don't like what the system has chosen for you, by clicking the Customize the Site link above. Feel free to play around, and try different settings.

A big reason for making the technical changes is to make the site more accessible to visitors using a wide variety of browsers and computers. The feedback indicated that most people liked the framed, Java'd, graphic intensive previous design; but a few of you also wrote to say that your browser couldn't handle it. I listened, and now you'll find a lot more of the material is available.

I'm really curious (perhaps anxious is a better word) to hear how you like the changes. Please use the Feedback Form link at the top of the page to send me a message

Enjoy your visit!
