Toting the Mir Environmental Effects Payload (MEEP),
astronaut Linda M. Godwin, STS-76 mission specialist, moves along the longerons of
Atlantis' cargo bay starboard side.
During the docked phase of the STS-76 mission, astronauts Godwin and Michael R. (Rich) Clifford teamed to mount the MEEP experiments on the Mir docking module (DM). The experiments will collect micrometeoroid debris for more than a year. The MEEP experiments will be removed from the DM by U.S. astronauts on a future Mir docking mission and returned to Earth. 28 March 1996 |
