This is the most recent image of the Northern Hemisphere; it is a
composite of the images taken by the GOES=8 and GOES-9 satellites operated by the US National Oceanographic
and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This image was taken in infrared light, and shows more detail than the visible light or water
vapor images.
These GIF images are about 150-200K in size.
